God of War Ragnarok Valhalla DLC Difficulty that Even Developers Couldn’t Beat Yet
God of War Ragnarok made it’s launch at 2022 and became the fastest selling first party game in Playstation history with over 5.1 million copies sold in its launch week. After this success, there was no doubt that God of War legacy will continue. Just like we expected, at The Game Awards 2023 show, God of War Ragnarok Valhalla DLC has announced and made it’s launch lately.
One of the most appreciated aspects of Ragnarok is its difficulty settings, ranging from the easiest setting called “Give me Story” to the most challenging setting called “Give me God of War”. From the Valkyrie battles in the 2018 game to Ragnarok’s Berserker battles, Santa Monica has offered Herculean challenges that scale in difficulty based on these settings, which players have thoroughly enjoyed. Now, it is looking to kick things up a notch as Valhalla’s director has revealed an even more difficult challenge for the fans.
In a post made by God of War Ragnarok Valhalla DLC’s game director, Mihir Sheth, has revealed a new difficulty mode called “Show me Mastery”, which even the developers haven’t beaten yet. Sheth also mentioned looking forward to the community’s attempts to humble them, but believes that the team has maybe beaten the players this time by creating a truly unbeatable challenge.
Valhalla looks to offer a combat experience like Ragnarok’s Crucible and the 2018 God of War’s Niflheim maze with roguelike elements, which will make the task even more difficult, as players will have to start from scratch upon death.

God of War players have had a history of surprising the developers with their no hit runs and speedruns. For instance, one player beat Ragnarok’s Queen Gna in 11 seconds at the highest difficulty, while another did the same at level one with just arrows and a shield. Taking it a step further, one player managed to beat Thor at the highest difficulty with their hand in a Pringles can, proving that the God of War community doesn’t shy away from any challenge.
We will see what players will do that at this difficulty but in the end, we all know that this is not a true difficulty for God of War fans. They can beat it no doubtly.
