Godzilla x Kong: Supernova First Teaser Released
The giants of monster cinema are back! Warner Bros. and Legendary have officially announced the new installment of the MonsterVerse universe. The first teaser for the sequel, which will be called Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, has also been shared. Although the images do not contain much detail, the iconic Godzilla roar heard at the end of the trailer raises expectations.
Filming Has Started for Godzilla x Kong: Supernova
The sequel to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has been in preparation for a long time. It was confirmed last year that Dave Callaham wrote the script. Adam Wingard, who previously directed Godzilla vs. Kong and The New Empire, was set to return to the project, but left the project amicably. Grant Sputore was brought in to direct instead. Sputore had previously attracted attention with the 2019 film I Am Mother.
The new film stars Kaitlyn Dever. Dever will be joined by Dan Stevens, Jack O’Connell, Matthew Modine, Delroy Lindo, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Sam Neill. It is stated that the focus will be more on human characters this time. Legendary wants to invest in a character-based story in addition to giant monsters.
Although no clear details about the story were shared, information was given that Godzilla and Kong will “fight together against a devastating threat that will end the world.” This is a sign that the action will be at its peak again. Even the short scenes in the trailer have caused excitement among fans.
Although Godzilla x Kong: Supernova did not receive full marks from critics, it continues a series that has been successful at the box office. The previous film in the series grossed approximately $555 million worldwide. The expectation from the new film is to take this success even further. The release date of the production is March 26, 2027.
