One of Grand Theft Auto VI fans noticed something about Lucia in the trailer.
What’s the Deal About this Ankle Monitor in the Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer?
The new released Grand Theft Auto VI trailer left everyone in shock, some people are trying to process the reality, some of them also are trying to find hidden details which Rockstar hid in the trailer. Every detail in the trailer are full of small Easter Eggs and most of them are unique to Rockstar Games’ development style.
But there is one detail which people are wondering is the ankle monitor that Lucia wearing in the key art. A Grand Theft Auto-centric Twitter account by the handle of GTABase.com took note of a small detail while re-watching the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, and posted a screenshot of said detail for fans to discover and speculate on.
In one brief moment, Lucia appears to be wearing an ankle monitor, which in the real world is used to track prisoners who are given house arrest. GTABase.com wonders if this will have some sort of impact on gameplay during the beginning of Grand Theft Auto 6, with Lucia not able to travel outside of a certain radius early on.
Open-world games like Grand Theft Auto sometimes lock players in a certain section of the map until they learn the ropes or reach a certain point in the story, and Lucia’s apparent ankle monitor could be GTA 6’s way of slowly unlocking its massive map with a solid in-universe explanation as to why she can’t leave a certain area at the start of the game.
Sure enough, Grand Theft Auto 6’s reveal trailer shows Lucia talking with a correctional officer, suggesting that the game will begin with her under house arrest or parole of some kind for her past crimes.
Lucia will likely violate the terms of this agreement once she reunites with her apparent boyfriend, who has been referred to as Jason in past GTA 6 leaks.
There are still many unanswered questions about Grand Theft Auto 6’s plot, which is already breaking the mold of previous entries thanks to its criminal power couple and playable female lead. Fans will have plenty of time to scan the recent trailer for more clues like Lucia’s ankle monitor, as the next installment of the infamous GTA franchise isn’t set to hit stores for another two years.
We don’t know when the next Grand Theft Auto VI trailer will be released, but at least we have something to hold onto until the next trailer drops.
Grand Theft Auto VI is in development and it’s planned to be released at 2025 for PS5 and Xbox Series. In the first announcement, there are no news about PC release. Looks like Rockstar Games won’t break the rule and release their latest game later for PC.
