Greedfall 2 Wants to Redeem Itself with New Update
Greedfall 2 has released a comprehensive update to make up for its disappointing early access launch. The game’s developer Spiders has announced that it has completely revamped the combat system, offering more dynamic gameplay and adding additional content along with a new region. The update aims to address criticism from longtime fans of the game and provide a better experience for new players.

The combat system, one of the most criticized aspects of Greedfall 2, was the focus of this update. The developers made the animations faster and smoother, allowing attacks to be chained more effectively. In addition, the target locking system was improved and character movements were made more fluid. The new system made melee combat more dynamic and provided better visual feedback to players.
Spiders stated that with these changes, players will feel more in control during combat. Improved animation transitions and micro movements make a difference, especially during skill use. The team, which aims to get rid of the “heavy and cumbersome” structure of the old system with the update, is carefully monitoring players’ reactions.
In addition to fighting mechanics, the update added a new region, Olima, and a ship-based hub area to the game. Olima offers new missions and story details to explore, while the ship is designed as an area where players can manage their teams, organize their items, and rest. Players can prepare between missions in this hub and fully benefit from RPG mechanics.
The original Greedfall received great acclaim when it was released in 2019, reaching 16,000 concurrent players. However, Greedfall 2 experienced a major decline in early access, reaching only 375 concurrent players. This update is seen as an important step in fixing the game’s poor performance and regaining its player base.
It was also announced that after the update, old save files will be invalid and players will have to start a new game. Spiders stated that such changes are part of the early access process. Whether Greedfall 2 will achieve success with this new version will be clear in the coming days.
