Grounded 2 Will Be Free to Try for a Limited Time

Obsidian Entertainment’s new survival game, Grounded 2, is being made available for free for a limited time. Released as part of Game Preview in July of this year, the game was already available with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. However, the studio is also offering a free trial to Steam users this weekend.

Grounded 2 Available for Free Trial on Steam Until October 13

According to the announcement, the Grounded 2 Game Preview will be available for free download on Steam from 8:00 PM on October 9th to 8:00 PM on October 13th. During this time, players can try out the early access version of the game and try to survive in its vast backyard world. The game will still be available for purchase after the trial period ends.

Grounded 2 is available on PC and Xbox platforms in the standard edition for £24.99 and the Founder’s Pack for £34.99. The advanced edition comes with a special bundle containing four exclusive character costumes, a digital art book, and the game’s soundtrack. This offers a variety of options for those who want to purchase the game after a trial.

According to early editorial reviews, Grounded 2 maintains the core dynamics of the first game while significantly expanding its map and content. It offers a larger world filled with new mysteries, improved survival mechanics, and a fresh story. However, some critics believe the sequel should have included bolder innovations.

However, players can still experience the atmosphere and detailed world of Grounded 2 firsthand with this free trial. Obsidian states that it will continue to listen to player feedback throughout the early access period. It appears the adventure will be much larger and more immersive this time around.
