GTA 6 60 FPS Expectations May Be In Vain

While GTA 6 is among the most anticipated productions in the gaming world, concerns about its performance are on the agenda. Former Rockstar Games developer Mike York stated in a statement that the game may not be able to offer 60 FPS support on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. York claimed that GTA 6 will run at a fixed 30 FPS and that this performance limit may occur due to optimization issues.

GTA 6 May Be Limited to 30 FPS on Consoles

Mike York stated in a podcast broadcast that it is difficult for Rockstar Games to achieve the 60 FPS target in GTA 6. York stated that the game will run at a fixed 30 FPS speed on consoles and that optimization will be done so that it does not fall below this speed. However, it was also stated that PC players can achieve 60 FPS or higher performance with powerful systems.

Rockstar Games’ previous game, Red Dead Redemption 2, was similarly limited to 30 FPS. GTA 5, on the other hand, offered 60 FPS support on next-generation consoles. This increased expectations for GTA 6. Although York did not have definitive information about the current development process as a former employee, he stated that Rockstar’s priority was to run the game stably.

The issue of FPS (frames per second) is an important topic of discussion among gamers. While a performance of 60 FPS and above is indispensable for some in terms of gaming experience, others can be satisfied with a stable 30 FPS. While York’s statements increase concerns about GTA 6’s performance, we will have to wait for the game’s final performance.

Rockstar Games has not yet announced any official performance details for GTA 6. The game will be released in 2025, and it is estimated that optimization work will continue during this time. Players are eagerly waiting to see what kind of experience GTA 6 will offer in terms of both visuals and performance.
