Grand Theft Auto 6, one of the most anticipated games in the gaming world, has been officially postponed to 2026. Rockstar Games announced in a short statement on social media that the game will be released on May 26, 2026. The postponement decision came after the previously announced 2025 launch plan.

Rockstar Games expressed their sadness for the delay in their statement, saying, “We are announcing that Grand Theft Auto VI will now be released on May 26, 2026. We are sorry that this is later than you expected.” The studio thanked the players for their excitement and patience, and stated that they always aim to exceed expectations and need extra time to reach this level.
While no new details have been given about the game’s development process, it seems that the second trailer is not on the agenda for now. After the first trailer was released in December 2023, players have been waiting for new images for a long time.
The postponement news came before Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two’s financial meeting on May 15. On the other hand, in the statement made about the date change of Borderlands 4, it was especially emphasized that this postponement was not related to GTA 6.
Although the postponement of GTA 6 was disappointing among fans, it is known that Rockstar has shown the importance it gives to quality in its previous productions. The development team also announced that they will share more details soon.
