GTA 6 May Include Viral TikTok Track
Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated GTA 6 game will reportedly feature a viral song on TikTok. The song’s creator, Philadelphia rapper Skrilla, claimed in a podcast that his song would be played on one of the game’s radio stations. This statement is being interpreted as a strong indication that GTA 6’s soundtrack will be more closely aligned with social media culture than ever before.
GTA 6 Soundtrack Draws Inspiration from TikTok Culture
The wave TikTok created in the music world is now being transferred to games. This platform, which didn’t even exist when GTA 5 launched, is shaping music trends today. It appears that GTA 6 will incorporate the hits that became a TikTok phenomenon into its radio stations to capture this digital culture. Skrilla’s song “Doot Doot (6 7)” appears poised to be a part of this trend.
The rapper’s statements came on Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast. Skrilla hinted that his song had been officially licensed, saying, “When GTA 6 comes out, I’ll be in the game with my own character and my own music will be playing.” This track, known for its line “6-7, I just bipped right on the highway,” has gone viral, particularly in basketball montage videos. However, its lyrics and style are described as “unconventional.”
No official confirmation has yet been received from Rockstar Games. However, this highlights the importance placed on diversity and contemporary culture in GTA 6’s soundtrack. The game’s music selection is broad, encompassing genres such as rap, country, EDM, pop, and rock. This will both preserve the nostalgic spirit of GTA radio and appeal to a new generation of listeners.
Besides Skrilla, T-Pain also announced last year that he was “working on GTA 6.” The rumor that Rockstar blocked him from playing on its own GTA RP servers is seen as strong evidence that he’s truly involved in the project. It’s also rumored that Florida-based artists like DJ Khaled and Pitbull could also appear in the game as character inspirations.
While these rumors haven’t been officially confirmed, GTA 6 is expected to incorporate a TikTok-inspired music playlist into the Vice City atmosphere. It wouldn’t be surprising if Rockstar, as in the past, blends music and culture to create an unforgettable experience for players.
