GTA 6 Price May Be More Affordable Than Expected
The long-anticipated GTA 6 is in the news not only for its release date but also for its potential price. While players continue to debate whether a $100 game is even possible, a new consumer survey has provided significant data on this matter. The findings suggest that Rockstar Games would be both more logical and profitable to sell the game at its standard price of $69.99.
$70 Could Be the Golden Price for GTA 6
Research firm MIDiA Research conducted a survey of more than 2,000 US gamers to determine the potential price range for GTA 6. Analysis using the Gabor–Granger method revealed that the majority of gamers are inclined to purchase at $70. Therefore, raising the price to $80 or $100 could result in lost sales, not increased revenue, for Rockstar.
Analyst Brandon Sutton, who conducted the research, emphasized that such giant brands target both their loyal fans and the general gaming audience: “The balance is very delicate in games that appeal to a broad audience. Setting prices too high can scare away potential buyers.” According to Sutton, Take-Two Interactive already conducts similar internal analyses, and this data supports its strategy of “reasonable pricing.”
According to leaked information, GTA 6 will be released in three different editions: Standard, Deluxe, and Premium. UK pricing is £69.99, £89.99, and £109.99, respectively. The Deluxe and Premium editions will reportedly offer early access, but it’s also possible they will be supplemented with additional content.
While Rockstar Games hasn’t yet announced official pricing, the research is promising. Most players consider the $70 level “fair.” If this prediction proves true, GTA 6 could be the most talked-about game of the year, not only for its open-world experience but also for its lower-than-expected price.
