GTA6 Xbox Series S Concerns Solved
Take-Two Interactive has talked about concerns regarding the performance of GTA6 at Xbox Series S.
Concerns Solved About GTA6
The Xbox Series S has proven to be highly controversial this console generation, with some developers going as far as accusing it of keeping games from reaching their full potential. Indeed, the Xbox Series S has demonstrably caused some headaches, with Larian Studios’ difficulty with the weaker system reportedly being one of the reasons behind why Xbox fans had to wait longer for Baldur’s Gate 3. With Grand Theft Auto 6 set to be a graphically-intensive and massively complicated game, there are those who are worried that it will struggle to run the game.
Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick has put those concerns to rest. Speaking in Take-Two’s latest earnings call, Zelnick said that the company finds “a way to support platforms despite different levels of tech. Our labels are really good at that.” Zelnick added that he’s “not really worried” about the Xbox Series S. He added that he’s never worried about hardware because he doesn’t have control over that, and he just wants to make sure that the company’s games are “on an array of platforms.” It seems Xbox fans don’t have to worry about the Series S keeping them from playing Grand Theft Auto 6 day and date as those on PS5.
With Take-Two not worried about GTA6 potentially being held back by the Xbox Series S, one has to wonder if a Switch 2 port of the highly-anticipated open world game is also potentially in the cards. Nintendo has yet to reveal the Switch 2, but we know that the console is going to be an upgrade over its predecessor. It may not be as significant of an upgrade required to run something like Grand Theft Auto 6, but again, we won’t know until it’s actually announced.
Currently, GTA6 is only guaranteed to launch on are PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The game will make it’s launch to PC eventually but as a tradition of Rockstar Games, it looks like it won’t be the same as other platform launches. But the release window is certained as Fall 2025 for GTA6.
