Gumball Returns to Screens After 7 Years
After seven years, Gumball and his friends are getting ready to return to the screens. The new series, which is a direct sequel to The Amazing World of Gumball, will meet the audience under the name The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball. The project, which is being directed by the creator of the original production, Ben Bocquelet, will meet the audience in cooperation with Hulu and Cartoon Network.
What Will Happen in the New Gumball Series?
The new series will continue where we left off in the old episodes. Gumball and Darwin will find themselves in the middle of unrealistic events in the town of Elmore. The production team includes Ben Bocquelet, as well as Matt Layzell and Erik Fountain. The series’ music is by Xav Clarke, and the art direction is by Joe Sparrow. The voice cast includes names such as Alkaio Thiele (Gumball), Hero Hunter (Darwin), Kinza Syed Khan (Anais), Teresa Gallagher (Nicole) and Dan Russell (Richard).
The production team shared their happiness in bringing the characters back to life in a statement, saying, “Gumball and Darwin haven’t grown up much, and neither have we!” Vanessa Brookman from Warner Bros. Discovery stated that they will continue the legacy of the series and that this adventure will attract attention with its unique humor and visuals.
The new series will feature many absurd stories, from Gumball fighting a fast-food empire to his confrontation with his mother who is in love with an artificial intelligence. While the trailer shows that the series’ classic mixed-media animation style is preserved, it is also implied that the “void” theme from the last episodes of the previous season will continue. The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball will be released in the US on Hulu in 2025 and internationally on Cartoon Network.
