HBO Announces Cast for Harry Potter Series
HBO has made its decision after a large-scale casting for the lead roles in the new Harry Potter series. In the castings where more than 30 thousand young actors applied, three new names were announced who will portray the characters of Harry, Hermione and Ron. With this decision that will change the lives of the young actors, the production process has also accelerated.
The Leading Roles of the Harry Potter Series Have Been Announced
Dominic McLaughlin was chosen for the character of Harry Potter, while the role of Hermione Granger was entrusted to Arabella Stanton and the character of Ron Weasley was entrusted to Alastair Stout. The three young actors will bring the wizarding world to the screens for the next ten years. The first season is planned to start filming this summer and it has been reported that a special school for child actors has been established on the sets.
Producers Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod said, “We are delighted to announce that following an extraordinary search led by Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we have found the Harry, Hermione and Ron we were looking for.” They stated that they believe the talents of the three actors will make a great impact on the screen.
The cast that will accompany the main trio also consists of remarkable names. Experienced actors such as John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid), Luke Thallon (Quirinus Quirrell) and Paul Whitehouse (Argus Filch) will be in the series.
The series will be adapted faithfully to the books written by J.K. Rowling. Each season will explore different corners of the Harry Potter universe in depth and it was announced that the series will be released only on the HBO Max platform. It will also be available in new regions such as Turkey, England, Germany and Italy. The target release date is 2026.
