Hideo Kojima Talks About Death Stranding 2

Renowned game producer Hideo Kojima shared an update on the development of Death Stranding 2 on social media. Kojima stated that the game is currently entering the most physically and mentally challenging period of the development process, known as “crunch time.” He explained that during this process, Japanese voice recordings have begun and mixing work is ongoing. He also stated that they are working at an intensive pace with interviews, writing, and other creative responsibilities. Kojima added that the game is progressing in line with its 2025 release window.

Hideo Kojima emphasized that they have entered the most difficult phase of the development process of Death Stranding 2. He stated that while Japanese voice recordings and mixing work are ongoing, the team is also busy with other technical and creative tasks. Kojima said that this period is not only tiring, but also requires a very detailed collaboration.

Kojima also shared an emotional assessment of his own career on social media. He reminded us that Ridley Scott is still working as an active director at the age of 87, and expressed that he feels like he is racing against time every day. This personal comment had a deep impact on fans.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach was first announced at The Game Awards in December 2022. The full name of the game was revealed at a Sony State of Play presentation in January 2024. The production, starring Norman Reedus once again, is being developed exclusively for PlayStation 5.
