Intel XeSS 2 Supported Games Announced
Intel has announced its new Battlemage GPUs and the latest version of XeSS, XeSS 2. XeSS 2 will include XeSS Super Resolution, XeSS Frame Rendering, and Xe Low Latency. Intel also revealed the first games that will support XeSS 2.
Battlemage GPUs: Arc B580 and Arc B570
Intel will release the Arc B580 on December 13 and the Arc B570 on January 16. Both GPUs will support PCIe 4.0 x8 interface, DisplayPort 2.1, and the new XeSS 2. The Arc B580 will feature 12GB of GDDR6 memory and a 192-bit memory bus for $249. The Arc B570 will feature 10GB of GDDR6 memory and a 160-bit memory bus for $219.
Intel claims that the Arc B580 will beat current-gen GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD in both price and performance. The fact that it comes with 12GB of GDDR6 memory at this price point means that Intel will be dealing a significant blow to its competitors.
First Games to Support Intel XeSS 2
Intel has announced that the first games that will support XeSS 2 will be Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Robocop: Rogue City, F1 24, Dying Light 2, and more. The XeSS 2 Frame Rendering feature will not be available on previous Arc GPUs and will be exclusive to Battlemage GPUs.
Intel’s Battlemage GPUs and XeSS 2 technology are exciting news for budget PC gamers. Hopefully, the drivers will be in a better stage this time around and we won’t have another “Alchemist” situation. We also hope that PC gamers will support Intel this time around and Battlemage won’t be another failure for Intel.
