Is Mortal Kombat 1 Support Ending?
The announcement a few months ago that “our support has ended” for Mortal Kombat 1 upset fans of the series. However, NetherRealm’s latest post suggests that there may still be some surprises in store for Mortal Kombat 1. Exciting changes may be on the way for the game, which was previously discussed with the statement that “no new DLC will be released.” These new developments regarding Mortal Kombat 1 have rekindled the community’s interest.
New Updates Coming for Mortal Kombat 1
While NetherRealm has announced the end of support for Mortal Kombat 1, new statements from official accounts indicate that this decision is not final. The studio announced that it will release “exciting changes” after EVO 25. Ed Boon stated that the next update will likely not be the last.
Community members have already begun listing their new requests. Some are calling for features like online lobbies, team modes, and stage finishes, while others are focusing on more realistic expectations and balance adjustments. They’re calling for buffs for characters like Liu Kang, Smoke, and Quan Chi, and nerfs for fighters like the T-1000, Ermac, and Tremor.
Another notable idea is the proposed “Cameo-free mode.” While some players argue that this mode could revitalize the game, they also argue that removing it would render some characters completely ineffective. This suggests significant changes to the game’s core mechanics are needed.
Unreleased cosmetic items discovered through database searches are also being discussed. Some fans argue that adding these cosmetics to the store would be more exciting than balance patches. However, it’s anticipated that the studio will focus more on gameplay improvements for now.
