Bernthal’s Return Will Liven Up the Spider-Man Universe
The rumors that Spider-Man will form an alliance with The Punisher and fight against the Hulk in the new film have already excited fans. These claims were first made by The Hot Mic, and Jon Bernthal’s return shows that these rumors may be true. While it is also rumored that Mark Ruffalo will return as Bruce Banner, the trio of Spidey, Punisher and Hulk heralds a huge conflict in the cinema.
Other characters that will return alongside Spider-Man have also begun to be revealed. Zendaya (MJ) and Jacob Batalon (Ned) will continue their roles. It is also rumored that Sadie Sink could play a version of Gwen Stacy, Michael Mando will return as Scorpion, and Steven Yeun will play a role that has not yet been announced. The fact that the film is inspired by the “Brand New Day” story in the comics means that it will focus on Peter Parker’s process of rebuilding his life.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton made exciting statements at CinemaCon, stating that they enjoyed exploring the character’s new phase. Tom Holland was not at the event because he was filming, but he increased expectations by saying “Brand New Day will be a completely new beginning” in a video message he sent. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on July 31, 2026.
