Keanu Reeves Is An Angel In Good Fortune

Keanu Reeves, known for his action films, is changing genres this time and entering the comedy scene. Reeves, who plays the character Gabriel, a “budget-friendly guardian angel” in the movie Good Fortune, plays an angel who takes his duty of saving lives seriously but is not very competent.

Angelic Transition from Keanu Reeves to Comedy in Good Fortune

In the movie, Reeves’ character Gabriel demands more meaningful tasks from his superior Martha (Sandra Oh). Gabriel, whose daily responsibilities include “protecting people who text while driving”, is this time assigned to guide a lost soul. This task leads him to cross paths with Arj, played by Aziz Ansari.

Arj works as a temporary worker for Jeff (Seth Rogen), a wealthy socialite. Gabriel tries to convince Arj that wealth will not solve his problems and changes the lives of the two characters. However, things do not go as planned. When Arj becomes quite happy with his new luxurious life, Gabriel loses his angelic nature and is forced to live as a human.

Offering a balanced narrative between comedy and drama, Good Fortune is the first feature-length film directed by Aziz Ansari. Ansari, who also plays the lead role, is also a member of the production team. The film aims to reflect the unseen aspects of modern life to the audience through humor.

Good Fortune, which will be released only in theaters on October 17, is eagerly awaited both for its cast and its unusual story. The film deals with the difficulties that “everyone experiences but no one talks about,” as Aziz Ansari puts it, and offers the audience the opportunity to look at different lives with empathy.
