Killzone May Return With Helldivers 2
The legendary series of a period, Killzone, is back on the agenda after a break of over ten years. However, this time, it is not with a completely new game, but with signs of collaboration through Helldivers 2. According to the details revealed by data analysts, a Warbond that will offer Helghast-themed content to players will be added to Helldivers 2. If these claims are true, there may be a long-awaited development for Killzone fans.
Helldivers 2 and Killzone Collaboration Claims
The Killzone series last met its fans with Killzone: Shadow Fall, which was released for PlayStation 4 in 2014. Killzone fell into a long silence as Guerrilla Games focused on the Horizon series. However, the visuals revealed by data analysts and soon removed by Sony due to copyright reasons increased the excitement for Helldivers 2. The visuals point to the Helghast-themed “Righteous Revenants” Warbond, which is expected to be added to the game. This type of content could mean an indirect return to the series for Killzone fans.
The most striking elements of this content are the AC-1 and AC-2 armor sets, which represent two different Helghast units. While AC-1 is based on a typical Helghast infantry, it stands out with its high armor ratio. The faster and more durable AC-2 refers to Helghast snipers. Both armor sets provide 50% resistance to elemental damage types, which is a feature that can offer players strategic advantages.
Killzone fans have been waiting for the series to be revived for years. This collaboration, which is claimed to take place in Helldivers 2, shows that the series has not been forgotten, even though it is not a completely new Killzone game. Sony’s bringing such content to players may contain clues about a potential return of Killzone. However, it may be necessary to wait a little longer to see a more concrete sequel to the Killzone universe.
Helldivers 2’s nod to Killzone’s legacy with this type of content could excite old fans while also introducing the series to a new generation of players. However, it remains unclear whether Killzone will ever make a full-fledged return.
