Konami Releases New Trailer for Silent Hill f
Konami has released a highly anticipated new trailer for Silent Hill f, the new game in the Silent Hill series set in Japan. First announced in 2022 and bringing a different perspective to the Silent Hill universe, the game takes place in a fictional town called Ebisugaoka in 1960s Japan. Our main character, Shimizu Hinako, starts her story as an ordinary teenager, and has to struggle with her town being covered in thick fog and changing terribly. In the process, players will face both psychological and physical fears and will have to make a “beautiful but scary” decision throughout the game.
Silent Hill f Theme and Story
Silent Hill f maintains the series’ traditional psychological horror elements while also dealing with classic Japanese horror themes. Konami stated in its latest Silent Hill Transmissions release that the game emphasizes the theme of “terror in beauty.” This theme is inspired by the idea that “something that is very beautiful or perfect becomes disturbing”, especially in Japanese culture.
Written by author Ryukishi07, the story explores the classic themes of Silent Hill series: sin, inner conflict, and the struggle with darkness in the human mind. The game’s horror mechanics and creature designs aim to provide an experience that will penetrate the minds of players. In addition, the town’s “Mist World” music was prepared by the series’ iconic composer Akira Yamaoka, while the music for the “Dark Temple” sections was entrusted to Kensuke Inage.
The town of Ebisugaoka, where the game takes place, was designed with inspiration from Kanayama in Gifu Prefecture. This new location offers a different atmosphere than the series’ classic Silent Hill town. Konami stated that Silent Hill f will contain many Easter eggs for both new and old fans. It was also stated that the designs of the creatures in the game were prepared in a way that will deeply affect the psychology of players.
A release date has not yet been announced for Silent Hill f. However, it has been confirmed that the game will come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. Konami stated that it will share more details in the future. This new game in the series brings a different breath to the Silent Hill universe and is eagerly awaited by fans.
