More Free Games from Epic Games Store
Between July 17 and 24, Epic has been giving away the Platinum Edition of Civilization 6, which includes two of the game’s expansions and another half a dozen DLC packs. This promotional offer is now officially over, having been replaced with another freebie in the form of Legion TD 2.
With the Epic Games Store’s Legion TD 2 giveaway underway, the storefront did what it usually does and revealed its free titles for next week: Pilgrims and Keylocker. The latter is technically billed as a day-one release, albeit only on the Epic Games Store, having previously debuted on Steam in September 2024. Keylocker is a pixel art turn-based JRPG with rhythm action elements, a cyberpunk setting, and “Very Positive” reviews on Valve’s storefront.
Developed by Czech indie studio Amanita Design, Pilgrims is an adventure game that was originally released for PC and Apple Arcade in October 2019. It’s designed as a point-and-click experience that has players assume control of an adventurer trying to catch a bird in exchange for a boat ride. This simple premise soon unfolds into a non-linear adventure with plenty of memorable moments, a lot of heart, and significant replay value.
The choice-driven gameplay resonated with fans, as underlined by Pilgrims’ “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam, based on over 4,500 user impressions. Apart from writing and non-linear story progression, players also praised the game’s visuals, characterized by hand-drawn art, cartoonishly exaggerated characters, and a muted, earthy color palette. Pilgrims is regularly priced at $6.99 on the Epic Games Store, whereas Keylocker will retail for $19.99 outside its giveaway period.
