Laurence Fishburne, known for his role as Bill Foster in the Marvel Universe, wants to re-enter the superhero world. The renowned actor expressed his devotion to the Marvel comics, a beloved character, and stated that he is now searching for a more age-appropriate character. This time, Fishburne has his sights set on Professor X, the wise leader of the X-Men.

Laurence Fishburne Wants to Play Professor X in Marvel Cinematic Universe

64-year-old Laurence Fishburne openly expressed his desire to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a recent interview. “I’ve always described myself as a true Marvel believer. I grew up with the comics since I was a kid,” he said. He explained that he wanted to play different characters in his youth, but now he’s looking for a role more appropriate for his age.

Fishburne also shared the character he had in mind: “At my current age, I think Professor X is the character that best suits me. If I ever have the chance to work at Marvel again, I would love to play him.” Fishburne’s statement rekindled rumors about Marvel’s new X-Men project.

Marvel Studios is currently working on the long-awaited X-Men film. Thunderbolts director Jake Schreier will direct the film, which will feature a script by Michael Lesslie. While the cast hasn’t been confirmed yet, the prospect of a veteran like Fishburne as Professor X has been met with positive reviews from many fans.
