The next Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed Hexe has only received a teaser trailer so far, but it seems like it will take place during the 16th century Witch Hunts of the Holy Roman Empire. It’s worth noting that Assassin’s Creed Hexe is believed to release in 2026 or later, coming after the franchise’s next open world RPG, Assassin’s Creed Red.

Insider Gaming did report that Assassin’s Creed Hexe would feature a single female protagonist named Elsa, who wields some form of supernatural or magical abilities. It is also said to be a more linear game than recent titles, though it will feature some key elements of open world titles. Now, Insider Gaming reports that it has seen footage of Elsa using a spell to possess a cat. In this form, Elsa reportedly distracts some German soldiers to divert their attention, presumably to escape. Insider Gaming describes the setting as “dark and gloomy,” and this footage takes place in the “cobbled streets” of a city.

Insider Gaming also reports that Assassin’s Creed Hexe will feature a fear system similar to AC Syndicate’s Jack The Ripper DLC or at least it’s what their plan is. Considering the game will take place most likely during Witch Hunt, this would be a fitting decision by developers.

We also have to say that until Ubisoft confirms these informations, it’s good to take these with grain of salt. New details about next Assassin’s Creed games will most likely reveal very soon.
