Leon Was in the Resident Evil Requiem Trailer
Horror game legend Leon S. Kennedy may be making a comeback in Resident Evil Requiem after years away. While not officially confirmed by Capcom yet, well-known leaker DuskGolem claimed that Leon appeared in the first trailer with two small details. This has generated considerable excitement among fans.
Traces of Leon Spotted in Resident Evil Requiem Trailer
DuskGolem, one of the series’ most reliable leakers, shared on X (formerly Twitter), “Leon actually appears in two different guises in the trailer, but these details are quite minor and will be more noticeable when you go back and watch.” This statement confirms previous rumors and strengthens the belief that Leon will be one of the game’s main characters.
Leaker also noted that players will be able to play more as Leon instead of the new character Grace. “This is a bit subjective,” DuskGolem said, “but due to the nature of the game, I think most players will spend the majority of the time as Leon.” This comment also supports theories that Resident Evil 9 will feature a dual-character narrative.
DuskGolem was also asked about the possibility of Capcom removing Leon from the game later in development. Leaker replied emphatically, “No.” “Such a change would mean wasting a multi-million dollar budget. These decisions aren’t made lightly; they require approval processes, additional budget allocations, and development plans,” he said.
There’s no clear explanation of where exactly Leon is seen in the trailer, but some fans believe a brief silhouette and a familiar voice could belong to the character. Given Capcom’s tradition of secretly hinting at hidden references in trailers, these claims don’t seem entirely unreasonable.
Capcom is still quiet about Resident Evil Requiem (RE9). However, if the leaks prove true, the next installment in the series could feature both a new horror story and the iconic return of Leon Kennedy. The gaming world is eagerly awaiting the unraveling of this mystery.
