Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Release Date Confirmed
Kadokawa Games successor Dragami Games first announced the remaster of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP in July, 2022. Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP was initially intended to be a remake, but due to popular demand, company president Yoshimi Yasuda announced it would be remastered to preserve the nostalgic attachment to the original Grasshopper Manufacture title.
Lollipop Chainsaw starred voice acting legend Tara Strong as Juliet, a high school cheerleader fighting her way through a horde of zombies during an outbreak. Strong will be reprising her role as Juliet for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, although it has yet to be confirmed if the old cast’s voices are being implemented through archived audio or re-recordings. Joined by the disembodied head of her boyfriend, Nick, 18 year old Juliet must save her classmates from the apocalypse and be home in time for her birthday party.
With the new trailer, the game got release date, which will be September 25, 2024. Yoshimi Yasuda also took to Twitter to make the announcement himself, also mentioning that the remaster would be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
The trailer also reveals the return of several other characters, including Juliet’s sisters, Cordelia and Rosalind; the Starling trio’s father, Gideon Starling; Juliet’s mentor, Sensei Morikawa; and the “Dark Purveyors” comprising Swan, Zed, Vikke, Mariska, Josey, and Lewis. Many of these voices might sound familiar due to Lollipop Chainsaw’s countless Easter eggs.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will be released September 25, 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
