Magic: The Gathering 2026 Calendar Includes The Hobbit and Star Trek

Magic: The Gathering, the legendary card game franchise, has finally announced its massive 2026 calendar. At MagicCon Atalanta, Wizards of the Coast unveiled a packed calendar featuring both in-universe and Beyond Universes sets. The addition of The Hobbit and Star Trek crossover sets, in particular, has generated considerable excitement in the gaming community.

Magic: The Gathering 2026 Calendar Announced

2026 will be a busy year for Magic with seven major sets. Four of these sets will be Beyond Universe projects, while the rest will advance in-universe storylines. The fact that a large portion of the year is dedicated to crossover content is likely to spark debate among players.

The first set of the year, Lorwyn Eclipsed, will be released on January 23rd. Another Universes Beyond set will follow in March, but its contents have not yet been announced. Secrets of Strixhaven, released in April, will return to wizarding school, and in June, a brand-new Marvel Super Heroes set, in collaboration with Marvel, will be added to card collections.

In August, J.R.R. Tolkien’s world will once again meet Magic. The Hobbit crossover set will invite players to Middle-earth with cards set in the Lord of the Rings universe. The in-universe Reality Fracture set, released in October, will focus on deepening Magic’s own story.

The final surprise of the year will arrive in November. Wizards will team up with Star Trek to offer players a science fiction-themed set. This set will surpass the in-universe content of Universes Beyond sets by 2026.
