Mahershala Ali Is Quiet About Blade Delays
Blade, which stands out as the only Marvel production that has not yet been released among the projects announced for 2022, continues to be on the agenda of fans. Mahershala Ali, who plays the lead role, has skillfully avoided questions about the film in his recent statements. The actor’s approach has left those waiting for clear information about the delays even more curious.
Mahershala Ali Continues to Avoid Blade Questions
Mahershala Ali answered questions with Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey on Vogue’s “Off the Cuff” program. When Bailey asked the number of MCU projects Ali and Johansson are involved in on the program, Ali avoided answering by saying, “Don’t get me involved in this. That’s Scarlett’s question.” While Johansson’s long career at Marvel was being discussed, it was notable that she did not say a word about Blade.
Ali has only appeared as Blade in the 2021 film Eternals with an uncredited voice. He has not yet appeared on a physical stage. The two-time Oscar-winning actor previously played the character of “Cottonmouth” in the Netflix series Luke Cage in 2016. However, the moment when he will take the stage as Blade in the cinematic universe has not yet come.
During the conversation, Bailey’s words, “There is a project we are all excitedly waiting for,” were interpreted as a reference to Blade. Johansson tried to persuade Ali to talk, but she was unsuccessful. Instead, Ali dodged the question and asked about Johansson’s first film role, and the subject shifted outside the MCU.
Ali’s silence, who said “I’m ready to be Blade” at the Jurassic World Rebirth premiere last month, has further increased fans’ expectations. The film, which has not yet been officially released, continues to be one of the most anticipated productions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
