Marvel And The Royal Family Make A Million Dollar Deal

Marvel Studios allegedly paid millions of pounds to the British Royal Family in order to obtain permission to shoot in Windsor Great Park for its highly anticipated film Avengers: Doomsday. Directed by brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, the film sees Robert Downey Jr. return as the villain Doctor Doom.

Marvel Movies Are Being Filmed on Royal Lands

According to the news in the UK-based The Irish Sun, Marvel Studios has received permission to shoot in Windsor Great Park for some scenes in Avengers: Doomsday. It is reported that a payment of several million pounds was made for the maintenance costs of the Royal Lands to which the park is attached. According to sources, King Charles has been informed of these developments and is closely following the arrangements to be made in the park.

The news also points out that this payment is a small amount for Marvel. Considering that Marvel movies earn billions of dollars, it is stated that the expense made for the park is insignificant in terms of the studio budget. However, this payment is important for the Crown; because this amount will be used for the maintenance of the park and since a portion of the Crown Estate income is transferred directly to the royal family, both parties will benefit.

It is stated that a crew and cast of approximately 300 people will be present at Windsor Great Park for the shootings that will continue throughout the summer. While the details of the scenes to be shot are currently being kept secret, rumors suggest that a set to be used as Luke Cage’s house may also be built in this area.

There has been no official statement from either Marvel Studios or the British Royal Family yet. However, this development has further increased expectations for the new movie in the Marvel universe.
