Marvel Cosmic Invasion Announces Release Date

The Marvel Universe’s most chaotic space battles are returning to the big screen. Marvel Cosmic Invasion, a 2D beat ’em up developed by Dotemu and Tribute Games, has finally reached its official release date. A new trailer shared by the studios announced the game’s release date on December 1, 2025. The trailer also features the first glimpse of the game’s final two playable characters, Phoenix and Iron Man.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion Comes to Save the Galaxy on December 1

Marvel Cosmic Invasion, which will be released on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, is inspired by the mid-2000s “Annihilation” comic book storyline. Players will embark on an epic battle against the galaxy-invading Annihilus and his Annihilation Wave army.

Blending classic side-scrolling fighting games with a modern twist, the game enriches the genre with an innovative mechanic: the Cosmic Swap system. This system allows players to instantly switch between characters during battle, increasing both strategic depth and visual variety.

For example, when playing as Spider-Man and Venom, you can launch enemies into the air with Venom’s powerful attacks, then switch to Spider-Man to extend the combo with acrobatic kicks. These character swaps provide not only aesthetic but also tactical advantages.

Some players who have tried the preview version of the game describe Marvel Cosmic Invasion’s combat as “more fluid and deep than anything seen in the Beat ‘Em Up genre before.” With its colorful comic-style graphics, energetic soundtrack, and cast of characters drawn from the Marvel universe, the game aims to offer both a nostalgic and modern experience. The time to unite once again against the threat from outer space is approaching. Marvel Cosmic Invasion invites Marvel fans to epic battles across the galaxy on December 1st.
