Marvel Rivals May Be Coming to PS4
Marvel Rivals quickly attracted a large player base and captivated Marvel fans. Inspired by Overwatch and adding its own touches, the game attracted attention with its free-to-play feature and has now sparked strong speculation about a PS4 release.
Marvel Rivals PS4 Version Leaked
According to information shared by PlayStation Game Size, an update codenamed “01.01” has been discovered for Marvel Rivals. The fact that this update is directly linked to the PS4 version suggests the game is also being developed for older-generation consoles. Similar leaks have been shared on social media before, but this update further solidifies the claims.
Developed by NetEase Games, Marvel Rivals has become one of the most popular multiplayer hero shooters of recent times. Players can control a wide range of iconic characters, from Iron Man to Doctor Strange. The game, which has reached a wide audience on PC and next-gen consoles, has the potential to further expand the Marvel fan base thanks to its PS4 compatibility.
News of a PS4 release also offers a glimmer of hope for Xbox One owners. If Marvel Rivals is released on the previous-gen PlayStation, there’s a strong possibility it will also be released on Microsoft’s previous-gen console. However, the most pressing question at this point is whether performance will maintain the same level as the current versions.
NetEase Games hasn’t made an official announcement yet. However, traces of the PS4 update strongly suggest the game is in preparation for the previous-gen version. Future announcements will clarify the fate of Marvel Rivals’ PS4 and, potentially, Xbox One versions.
