Marvel Rivals Players React to Prices

With the latest update of Marvel Rivals, the long-awaited costume customization feature has finally been added to the game. However, the way NetEase Games integrated this system into the game has caused serious discomfort in the player community. Players are reacting due to the limited customization and the additional fee.

Reactions to Marvel Rivals Customization System Are Like an Avalanche

With the new system, alternative color palettes have begun to be offered for some character costumes. For now, only certain costumes of Luna Snow, Winter Soldier, Magik and Psylocke can benefit from this innovation. However, in order to use these customizations, players must have already purchased that costume. Moreover, although only a color change is offered, the introduction of it under the title “customization” has also caused backlash.

The main focus of the backlash was the newly introduced in-game currency called “Unstable Molecules”. This currency allows for customization and can only be exchanged at a one-to-one rate with another premium currency, “Lattice”. This means that players will have to pay an additional $6 for costumes that already cost $20. This means paying twice for the same costume.

The use of the word “customization” in the introduction of the system was also found misleading by the community. In reality, only a different color option is offered, and calling this limited change “personalization” did not meet the expectations of the users. Players expressed their reactions to this situation on social media and forums in both humorous and critical language.

NetEase Games announced that different ways to earn Unstable Molecules will be added with Season 3. However, this statement did not do enough to fix the negative perception created by the current pricing model. The community hopes that the development team will take this feedback into account and make more fair and user-friendly changes to the system.
