Marvel’s Wolverine Gets Full Marks in Early Tests
Wolverine, one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel universe, is preparing to offer players a completely different experience with the new game developed by Insomniac Games. Announced with a short trailer in 2021, the game has been largely silent about. However, despite the studio’s cyberattacks and delays, initial test reviews suggest Wolverine will have a strong launch.
First Impressions of Marvel’s Wolverine
Sources indicate that development is progressing well despite the challenging circumstances. According to Henderson, testers commented that Marvel’s Wolverine “looks fantastic.” This positive feedback has rekindled expectations for the long-dormant project.
Insomniac faced a difficult time in 2023 due to a massive ransomware attack. The leaked 1.6 terabytes of data included a playable version of the game, further complicating the process. While the exposure of employees’ personal data severely impacted team morale, the studio persisted with the project.
One of the most anticipated issues surrounding the game is its release date. According to reports, Marvel’s Wolverine will be revealed at the State of Play event, rumored to be held later this month. While no specific date has been shared, Henderson suggested that a release window for 2026 could be announced.
PlayStation’s current roadmap covers games through fiscal year 2025. Therefore, the first official Wolverine reveal event is also crucial for adding the game to the calendar. If Sony doesn’t make an announcement at the event, it’s rumored that a new trailer could be released at The Game Awards at the end of the year.
Marvel’s Wolverine, with its powerful visuals and dark atmosphere, has already become one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Positive feedback from early tests suggests the game is in store for PlayStation fans.
