Marvel’s Wolverine Silence At SGF Draws Attention
Summer Game Fest 2025 was packed with new games, but the absence of some games drew as much attention as the announcements. Marvel’s Wolverine was at the forefront of these. After not appearing at Sony’s State of Play event, all eyes turned to Summer Game Fest, but Insomniac Games’ Wolverine project remained silent. The fact that there has still been no official update from the game, which was first announced in 2021, has caused concern on social media for fans.
Still Silence for Marvel’s Wolverine
Marvel’s Wolverine was first announced in September 2021, and very little official information has been shared about it since then. The fact that it did not appear at this year’s Summer Game Fest has raised questions about the future of the project. The game’s developer, Insomniac Games, has been on the agenda with major leaks in recent years. The fact that Wolverine was also included in these leaks may have led the studio to change its plans and make some innovations in the project.
Following the event, users on the X (formerly Twitter) platform posed questions directly to Insomniac. Many fans expressed their concerns, hoping that the game was still in development. The fact that no major additional content had been released despite Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 almost two years ago had also increased expectations that the studio was focusing on Wolverine. However, this expectation began to give way to disappointment with the long-standing silence.
The recent cancellation of EA’s Black Panther project has further increased sensitivity to games in the Marvel universe. Following this development, the lack of news from the Wolverine project is testing the patience of fans. Although no official cancellation statement has been made, Insomniac’s silence on the project continues. Until new information comes from the studio, it is assumed that Marvel’s Wolverine is still in development.
