Monster Hunter Wilds Is Inundated With Negative Reviews
Monster Hunter Wilds was released as one of the most anticipated games of the year and received full marks from critics in the first days. However, the reviews of Steam users overshadowed the success of the game. Capcom’s giant project is under heavy criticism due to performance issues on the PC side, and this situation is straining the reputation of the game.
Monster Hunter Wilds PC Reviews Deteriorated
While Monster Hunter Wilds has achieved a strong average score of 88 to 90 on Metacritic on PS5 and Xbox Series X platforms, the situation draws a completely different picture on Steam. When looking at the game’s Steam page, the latest reviews are labeled as “Extremely Negative”, which clearly shows the disappointment experienced by PC players.
The main reason for the negative comments is the optimization problems of the game on PC. Players state that they cannot reach a stable FPS value even at low resolutions and that the game frequently crashes and locks the entire system. Some users criticize Capcom harshly, describing Monster Hunter Wilds as a “complete fraud”.
Players are also not satisfied in terms of content. Many Steam users argue that there are not enough new monsters, the fighting mechanics feel boring, and the move sets are not deep enough. Especially players who have been following the series for a long time say that Wilds does not meet their expectations.
Although there is no official statement from Capcom yet, these feedbacks are expected to motivate the studio. Monster Hunter Wilds, which has a high chance of being nominated at The Game Awards 2025 to be held at the end of the year, may have a difficult journey to the awards if it does not receive a quick update in terms of PC optimization. Players hope that Capcom will fix its mistakes soon.
