Monster Hunter Wilds Second Open Beta Coming
Monster Hunter Wilds has announced the second open beta process for its new game developed by Capcom and set to be released on February 28, 2025. This beta test will be open to all players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam platforms without requiring a PlayStation Plus subscription. In addition to the missions offered in the first test, the second beta draws attention with a new hunter experience and cross-platform support.
Monster Hunter Wilds Second Beta Details
The beta test will take place in two separate periods: February 6-9 and February 13-16. Players will be able to complete missions with their friends through cross-play on PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms.
The second beta introduces players to a new hunting mission, the Gypceros. The Gypceros, a giant bird-dinosaur hybrid, was introduced in 2007’s Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, but has not appeared in Monster Hunter World or Monster Hunter Rise. In addition, missions with creatures like the armored frog Chatacabra and the bear-like Doshaguma from the first beta are returning. Players will also be able to re-experience character and Palico (cat friend) creation options.
Capcom announced that additional missions will be introduced in the second phase of the beta test, but that content will be announced later. While story progress and items earned from hunts during the beta will not carry over to the full version, character creation data will be preserved.
Some of the bugs found in the first beta may still be present in the second test, but Capcom said that these issues will be fixed in the full version. Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 28. The second beta looks set to further increase fans’ anticipation with the game’s cross-platform support and innovative hunting mechanics.
