Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Announced

During the June 4 State of Play broadcast, NetherRealm Studios teamed up with Digital Eclipse to reveal Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection, which includes different versions of the first four numbered Mortal Kombat games and other entries.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Revealed

During the June 4 State of Play episode, Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection was shown off in a 90-second segment. The upcoming compilation will include over 20 console, arcade, and handheld versions of the original Mortal Kombat through Mortal Kombat 4, along with entries like Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat Advance, and other unannounced titles. Some of the rarer versions will come from consoles like the Sega 32X and the Game Gear. Additionally, Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection will support online play with rollback netcode as a standard feature. Although Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection was slated for a 2025 launch, a precise release date remained elusive.

  • Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – 1995 (Arcade, SNES)
  • Mortal Kombat 4 – 1997 (Arcade)
  • Mortal Kombat Advance – 2001 (Game Boy Advance)
  • Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance – 2002 (Game Boy Advance)
  • Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition – 2003 (Game Boy Advance)
  • More Mortal Kombat titles will be revealed closer to launch.

 

Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection is a collaboration between NetherRealm Studios, Warner Bros., Atari, and Digital Eclipse, with the latter two known for their work on compilation projects like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. The upcoming Legacy Kollection will include interviews with the Mortal Kombat development team, along with concept art and marketing materials for fans to peruse. Along with a confirmed launch on PlayStation consoles, Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection will also be released on platforms like Steam, Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
