New Action from Jackie Chan: The Shadow’s Edge
Director Larry Yang, known for acclaimed films such as Ride On, Adoring and My Other Home, is preparing to excite action lovers with his new film The Shadow’s Edge. The trailer released recently shows that the production starring Jackie Chan will bring the actor back with an unusually dark story.
Jackie Chan Pushes the Boundaries with The Shadow’s Edge
The Shadow’s Edge is a clear departure from the light-humored action films of Chan’s career. The film promises a harsher, darker and more tense atmosphere. The trailer draws attention to the hints of a cleverly constructed cat-and-mouse game at the heart of the crime. This atmosphere leads fans to expect a Raging Fire-like performance from Chan.
The film’s strong cast includes veteran actor Tony Leung Ka-fai, whom we know from productions such as She Shoots Straight and Once Upon A Time In Hong Kong. The duo previously starred together in the 2005 film The Myth. Young talent Zifeng Zhang and K-pop group SEVENTEEN’s member Wen Junhui (Jun) are among the other notable names.
The story is about the Macau Judicial Police’s struggle with cunning thieves equipped with advanced technology. The efforts of retired tracking expert Huang De Zhong to defeat these criminals by collaborating with a team of young detectives drags the audience into an action-packed adventure. This chase, which combines traditional tracking methods with high technology, aims to give viewers moments full of tension.
The Shadow’s Edge also attracted attention at the Cannes Film Festival this year and made many international distribution deals. The film, which will be released in China on August 16, has not yet been released in North America. Jackie Chan fans and action enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting further news regarding the film’s world premiere.
