New Aliens: Fireteam Elite Game Leaked
Aliens: Fireteam Elite, released in 2021, received mixed reviews at launch but quickly built its own player base. The game gained renewed interest with its 2023 release for Nintendo Switch. Now, it’s being suggested that Cold Iron Studios is working on Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 May Be Coming
According to the leak, the new game will be published by Daybreak Game Company and will launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The first game was published by Cold Iron Studios; this time, the studio appears to be working directly under Daybreak’s umbrella. While the ESRB’s M (Mature) rating was quickly removed, information discovered by Polygon suggests the game could be real.
The first Fireteam Elite took place after the original Alien trilogy. Players were part of a Colonial Marine squad tasked with clearing out a new Xenomorph infestation caused by Weyland-Yutani’s failed “research” experiments. The game featured a three-player co-op system similar to Back 4 Blood. However, its repetitive mission structure and weak storytelling were the focus of criticism.
Nevertheless, the game’s “Very Positive” rating on Steam from over 13,000 user reviews seems to have given the developer hope. Players praised the variety offered by the class system and the tense atmosphere created by the labyrinthine corridors.
While no official announcement has been made about the new game, interest in the Aliens franchise has been on the rise in recent years. The success of the Alien: Romulus film and the announcement of FX’s Alien: Earth series have renewed interest in the universe. This may have also accelerated the revival of the Fireteam Elite series.
While there’s no official confirmation yet, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 marks a thrilling return to the sci-fi genre, combining horror and action. If the leaks are accurate, the Xenomorph hunt will resume on next-gen consoles in 2026.
