New Evil Dead Game Announced
The Evil Dead franchise is getting a brand new 16 bit platformer title featuring Ash, the iconic horror protagonist, back in action.

Since the first movie was released back in 1981, Evil Dead has become a massive cult classic in the horror genre. Sam Raimi’s franchise has brought an ever growing roster of sequels, spin offs, and reboots to life. Saber Interactive’s Evil Dead: The Game even attempted an asymmetrical horror game based on the series that eventually fizzled out. However, this upcoming retro take on Evil Dead looks promising.
Developer WayForward’s and publisher Boss Team Games have announced Retro Realms: Ash vs the Evil Dead. The 16 bit platformer is based on the Starz series Ash vs the Evil Dead and has titular hero Ash Williams fighting his way through hordes of Deadites.
The old-school style platformer is a fun throwback to the horror renaissance that helped define the 80s. Even more exciting is that pre orders for Retro Realms: Ash vs the Evil Dead will grant players access to an extra character. Those who choose to pre order the game will also get to play as Kelly Maxwell, Ash’s confidante throughout Ash vs the Evil Dead. Some of Evil Dead’s most horrifying monsters are set to make an appearance, which means plenty of gore filled action is on the horizon for players.
