New Psychological Horror Game Tenebrea Announced
Spanish studio Bowl of Tentacles has officially announced Tenebrea, a new first-person psychological horror game. Based on true events, the game follows the unexplained events that unfold in a student dormitory in Valencia. Players will explore the dark corridors with a flashlight and an EMF detector to unravel the mystery behind the supernatural presence.
Tenebrea Based on a True Story
Tenebrea’s story is based on the paranormal activity that has been occurring in a student dormitory in Valencia for years. Staff and students have reported objects moving on their own, silhouettes seen in the darkness, and mysterious voices echoing through the rooms. These strange occurrences have intensified after the tragic death of a maintenance worker.
Based on these true stories, the studio has crafted a scenario where players navigate the edge of reality, driven by paranoia. Players will control a student named Laura, and both their logic and courage will be tested as they uncover the building’s secrets. Each room contains clues to a past event; every whisper, every shadow draws players deeper into the game.
Tenebrea’s atmosphere blends classic horror elements with a modern narrative. Detecting the energy of supernatural beings with an EMF detector will create moments of heightened tension. The phone’s integrated flashlight system will offer both exploration and horror.
The production team states that the game is not merely a ghost story but also aims to explore “the psychological dimension of fear.” Dialogue and events inspired by real experiences will constantly make the player wonder, “What if it really happened?”
Tenebrea will be available on digital platforms in 2026. This Spanish horror film, based on true events, aims to breathe new life into the psychological thriller genre, following in the footsteps of games like Paranormal HK and Phasmophobia.
