New System Details Shared for Chrono Odyssey
Chrono Odyssey, which will start its closed beta process in June, attracted attention with the published developer diary. Although it may seem like a classic MMORPG at first glance, the game, which stands out with its time manipulation and exploration-based progression system, promises players an unusual experience.
Chrono Odyssey Pushes the Boundaries of Time and Reality
The Chrono Odyssey universe is not just about fantasy elements; according to the production team, it has a dark and cosmic infrastructure inspired by works such as Prometheus and Starcraft. The game takes place in a world called Setera. In this universe, past, future and parallel dimensions coexist. The enemies players encounter are not only physical, but also include beings from beyond reality. This adds a strong sense of uncertainty and threat to the game atmosphere.
The Chronotector system in the game allows secret paths and past information to be revealed by switching between timelines. This system eliminates the linear progression of missions and gives the player the freedom to explore without guidance. It is also possible to level up in ways other than combat, such as crafting and environmental exploration.
In Chrono Odyssey, it is not necessary to stick to the classic MMORPG trilogy of tank, support and damage roles. Players can play however they want, and each character type can progress alone thanks to active defense and evasion mechanics. In addition, the real-time weapon swap system allows instant switching between two different gameplay styles. Each weapon’s abilities have independent cooldowns, which adds strategic depth.
In the closed beta, players will encounter content such as Chrono Gates, which is a one-on-one PvE encounter, Trials full of time travel and traps, Expedition Dungeons played with teams of three, and Region Bosses, where multiple teams fight together. Additionally, non-combat content includes bounty hunting missions, puzzle-filled Labyrinths, and Time Portals to the past.
