New Update Released for Switch 2 and Switch

Nintendo has released version 20.2.0, a new system update for both the Switch 2 and the classic Switch. This update addresses issues with internet settings stuttering and parental control transfer issues that some users experienced. As always, the update also focuses on improving system stability.

What Issues Has Been Addressed in the Switch 2 Update?

According to Nintendo’s official notes, the system update primarily addresses specific issues that occurred when transferring parental control settings from the original Switch to the Switch 2. This error caused some users to lose their parental control settings during the system migration. These settings will now be transferred more securely.

Additionally, a bug that caused Switch 2 users to get stuck on the “Searching for networks” step has been fixed. The inability to make progress when searching for a Wi-Fi network in the system settings had become a serious issue for some users.

Nintendo’s recent system updates have included more bug fixes and performance improvements. Version 20.2.0 continues this trend. The company states that it includes system-wide stability improvements to enhance the user experience. Last month’s version 20.1.5 followed a similar “stability” theme.

Users don’t need to manually apply this update, as it downloads automatically in the background. If you haven’t received a notification yet, you’ll likely see an update on your device soon.

Nintendo’s regular release of updates for both the next-generation Switch 2 and existing Switch devices is part of the company’s long-term support policy. The release of new hardware doesn’t mean older systems will be neglected. Switch users continue to enjoy a safer and smoother experience thanks to these consistent updates.
