New Zootopia 2 Trailer Released

Zootopia, released in 2016 and a major box office success worldwide, returns with a sequel. The first trailer for Zootopia 2 reveals that the lovable detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are embarking on a more challenging and controversial mission. The no-longer-rookie duo is on the hunt for a sneaky snake causing chaos in the city, but their disagreements make the case even more complex.

Zootopia 2 Is Funnier, More Complex with Familiar Faces

Judy and Nick have reached a milestone in their detective careers. While they are now quite experienced as a team, their personal conflicts complicate matters. This, intriguingly, leads them to couples therapy. The therapy scene in the trailer clearly indicates that the humorous tone will be maintained. Dr. Fuzzby’s analyses during the group sessions, where Judy struggles to keep up, add entertaining depth to both the character development and the story.

Directed by Jared Bush and Bryon Howard, the sequel largely retains the original cast. Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman return as Judy and Nick, Shakira as Gazelle, and Idris Elba joins the cast as Police Chief Bogo. New characters include Nibbles Maplestic, the beaver voiced by Fortune Feimster.

Zootopia became a household name in the animation world, grossing over $1 billion at the time of its release. With a 98% critic and 92% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the film was praised not only for its entertaining story but also for its social message.
