Newly Released Game is Free on Steam
Newly released game Nubs! Arena is free on Steam until May 16.
Free Game from Steam
Developers Rangatang and Glowfish Interactive are offering their arena brawler Nubs! Arena free on Steam. The brightly colored and chaotic indie title offers a fast paced experience, with local co-op for up to 4 players and 20 person online multiplayer. Characters in Nubs! Arena are, fittingly, called Nubs, tiny and quirky warriors battling to be the last one standing.
The game also offers roguelite progression, with the Nubs starting out with basic weapons and then scrounging in chests found on the battlefield or looting downed foes to grab some needed upgrades. Every battle has five rounds, and at the end of each, players will select one passive ability to carry into the next, with every round becoming increasingly chaotic. But even death is not necessarily the end. A knocked out player is transformed into a floating star just hoping to respawn, but if an opponent captures the star first, it’s game over.
Nubs! Arena launched on May 15, and to attract as many players as possible to the multiplayer brawler, the devs are making it free on Steam through May 16. This is not a trial or demo; once claimed, the usually $7.99 game will be permanently part of the player’s library. There is also plenty of DLC available for Nubs! Arena, like the Chronicle Chaos Pack that adds nine additional Nubs to play as, along with six costume colors and seven emotes. And the Jumpstart Pack will lure in those players who like access to everything right out of the gate. It unlocks all 24 skins in the base game, so all the hard work of earning them can be avoided.
