Nioh 3 Release Date Announced
Nioh 3, long rumored in the gaming world, is once again in the news with its release date finally confirmed. Team Ninja unveiled the new game in the series at the PlayStation State of Play event, generating huge anticipation for fans. Rumors that had been fueled by previous leaks have now been officially confirmed.
Nioh 3 Release Date Official
Team Ninja announced that Nioh 3 will be released on February 6, 2026. This date aligns with a listing recently accidentally released by Amazon Japan. In addition to the standard edition, the “Treasure Box” collector’s pack is also included. This special edition includes an art book, CD soundtrack, mousepad, and plush keychain. While the cover art was also leaked, the official announcement has further fueled anticipation.
Nioh 3 puts players in the shoes of Tokugawa Takechiyo, Japan’s first shogun. This is a fantastical interpretation of a historical figure. Faced with rising supernatural threats in the country, Takechiyo will be forced to fight using both samurai and ninja techniques. This dual-sided combat system stands out as the game’s most striking innovation.
Team Ninja has further accentuated the Ninja Gaiden influence in this installment. Samurai-style allows players to regain stamina after attacks with Ki Pulse, while ninja-style allows the player to create a shadow copy. This mechanic distracts enemies and provides a strategic advantage. This variety in the combat system seems to bring a fresh breath of fresh air to the souls-like structure.
Team Ninja isn’t just working on Nioh 3. The studio will also release Ninja Gaiden 4 on October 21, 2025. Developed in collaboration with PlatinumGames, this installment will feature Ryu Hayabusa and the new character Yakumo. The fact that the studio is presenting two major projects to players at the same time is very exciting for action fans.
