No PS5 Pro Patch Planned for Cyberpunk 2077
CD Projekt RED has officially confirmed that there are no plans for a Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 Pro patch. Despite the powerful features of Sony’s next-gen console, the game will not receive an exclusive update for this platform.
No Cyberpunk 2077 Patch for PS5 Pro
CD Projekt RED announced on social media platform X that it is not working on a patch for PS5 Pro. While the studio did not explain the reason for this decision, the team is currently focused on Orion, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. This makes a patch in the near future highly unlikely.
With Sony’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology, the PS5 Pro offers significant innovations such as high frame rates, improved ray tracing and enhanced visual quality. But to take full advantage of these features, you’ll need games that carry the PS5 Pro Enhanced label.
Released in December 2020 for PS4, PC and Xbox One, Cyberpunk 2077 suffered from a number of performance issues at launch, which caused a huge backlash from gamers. CD Projekt RED worked for months to fix the game, releasing the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in 2022. While these updates have made the game more stable, PS5 Pro owners won’t be able to experience the extra power the console offers.
For fans of Cyberpunk 2077, this news may be disappointing, but CD Projekt RED is focusing on new projects and aims to deliver more powerful and optimized games in the future. Instead of a PS5 Pro exclusive patch, we can look forward to the studio’s next big step, Cyberpunk Orion.
