Oblivion Remastered Reached 4 Million Players

The Success of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered

In a major development this month, Bethesda revitalized one of its most well received Elder Scrolls games through a much anticipated remaster. Oblivion Remastered recorded incredible numbers upon launch, firmly confirming the original’s lasting appeal. On launch day itself, it attracted over 170K peak concurrent players on Steam, becoming one of the biggest launches on the storefront in 2025.

Apart from strong player engagement, Bethesda’s title has also earned a flurry of positive reviews across the board and currently holds a rating of 85 on OpenCritic. After such a scintillating performance, the devs have now shared that the action RPG has crossed another key milestone.

In a Twitter post, Bethesda announced that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered is now 4 million players strong, just three days after rolling out. With the footfall for the weekend still to be accounted for, there are chances that this stat may be boosted even higher in the next few days. It’s worth noting that the size of the player base here doesn’t translate to the number of sales, since Oblivion Remastered was also released as a day one title on Xbox Game Pass.

On the back of its commendable performance in its first few days, Oblivion Remastered has already reached a peak of 190,119 concurrent players on Steam, with that particular stat crossing at least 170K each day since the game’s release. As far as player feedback on Valve’s platform is concerned, the Virtuos developed title holds a remarkable Very Positive rating based on more than 21K user reviews.

Elder Scrolls fans could have more exciting things to look forward to in the near future. While the fan made remake of The Elder Scrolls 4, titled Skyblivion, is expected to land at some point in 2025, there are rumors that Oblivion Remastered could also hit the Nintendo Switch 2 eventually.
