Oblivion Remastered Rich Loot Bug

With its renewed graphics, Oblivion Remastered, which brings nostalgia to the present day, seems to bring some new surprises while preserving the oddities of the old version. A new bug that has caught the attention of players is causing the inhabitants of Cyrodiil to become unexpectedly rich. It is stated that the bug causes random NPCs to encounter hundreds of items or thousands of gold.

Oblivion Remastered May Have a Bug That Distributes Loot

The Remastered version retains the level-based loot system from the original game. In this system, the equipment on the enemies is determined by the player’s level. However, some users have encountered an anomaly that goes beyond the classic system. In a thread opened on Reddit, a player shared that he found more than 4000 gold on an insignificant NPC named Merildor. Although Merildor is not normally important outside of quest guidance, such a high amount of gold is unusual.

Similar examples are given in the comments under the same title. Some players state that NPCs who use magic carry 70 to 100 powerful healing and magic potions. Other users report that they have found thousands of arrows or rare loot in a single enemy’s inventory. It is thought that this situation is due to the system reproducing the same item over and over again to provide a certain value target.

What is more interesting is that some users say that they have encountered as much gold as the largest item pile in their character’s inventory. For example, one player stated that there were 464,121 poisoned apples in their inventory and that an NPC appeared with exactly this amount of gold. This coincidence raises the idea that the loot system may be shaped according to the player’s inventory.

Bethesda has not yet made an official statement on the subject. However, this interesting bug brings both surprise and unexpected wealth to players. Even with its bugs, Oblivion Remastered continues to keep the spirit of the original game alive.
