Of Ash And Steel Release Date Announced
The open-world role-playing game, Of Ash and Steel, has finally announced its release date for long-awaited players. Developer Fire & Frost and publisher tinyBuild announced that the game will launch on Steam and GOG on November 6th. A playable demo was also made available as part of the Steam Next Fest: October 2025 event.
Of Ash and Steel Will Offer an Exploration-Focused RPG Experience
Of Ash and Steel promises an experience focused on discovery and curiosity, ditching traditional quest markers. Players, taking the role of mapmaker Tristian, will explore the mysterious Grayshaft Island and attempt to discover the source of the curse that has befallen it. Decisions made throughout the story will shape the player’s fate and lead to different endings.
The demo, available on Steam, offers players the opportunity to experience both the beginning of the main story and various side quests. Players will meet new characters as they explore different areas of the island and can transform Tristian from an ordinary wanderer to a legendary hero by experimenting with professions and skill trees.
The demo also includes a special battle mode called Arena Master Mode. In this mode, players can test their skills in fast-paced combat to earn experience points, gold, and fame. Arena battles allow players to upgrade weapons and armor, learn new fighting techniques, and compete for the title of Grayshaft’s greatest gladiator.
In the game, players can master different weapon types. They can unleash high-damage attacks with massive axes, deliver swift, bleeding-effect strikes with agile swords, or balance with mid-range machetes. This system allows each player to create their own playstyle.
Fire & Frost asserts that Of Ash and Steel features a world not driven by quest markers. Driven by curiosity and exploration, players will find hidden areas, collect loot, and craft their own weapons. The crafting system will allow for the creation of powerful equipment early on, bringing a fresh perspective to the classic RPG formula. Of Ash and Steel will be available on Steam and GOG on November 6, 2025.
