Official Mod Support Arrives in Space Marine 2

Saber Interactive’s Space Marine 2 has finally announced the long-awaited news for the modding community. According to the statement made by game director Dmitry Grigorenko, official mod support is now fully operational. This popular game in the Warhammer 40K universe is starting a brand new era for players who want to produce their own content.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is Now Ready for Mods

“Today, we are passing the biggest threshold for our modding community,” Grigorenko said in a statement on Modding Hub, the official Discord server for Space Marine 2. Players will now have access to the game editing tool called Integration Studio, which the development team uses internally. This professional-level studio makes file editing faster, safer, and more intuitive.

Until now, modding has been limited and often required manual file editing. However, with the new system, cinematic stories, special game modes and much more are left to the imagination of players. Grigorenko emphasized the scope of the innovation by saying, “It’s no longer just a matter of trying to remember parentheses in a file. It opens the door to game development with real tools to players.”

With the new announcement, 12-player cooperative missions and model export support will also work integrated. What players will create with these possibilities is a matter of great curiosity. Grigorenko also shared the first sketches of a humorous mini-game idea called “Fishing With Daddy Calgar”. This shows how open the development team is to the creative projects of the community.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 combines the classic third-person action experience with modern mod support, while also offering players the freedom to create their own game universes. New content and mod projects are expected to appear soon.
