Pacific Drive Brings Its Mysterious Journey to Xbox
Pacific Drive, renowned for its immersive atmosphere and world filled with strange supernatural events, has finally made its way to the Xbox platform. The game is available to Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass subscribers. The Whispers in the Woods expansion, released on the same day, invites players to a forest region filled with new mysteries.
Pacific Drive: Whispers in the Woods Deepens Exploration with a New Story
Originally released for PS5 and PC in February 2024, Pacific Drive was widely praised for its mysterious atmosphere and unique physics-based driving system. The game, which pits players in a lone station wagon on a quest to survive in an anomaly-ridden Northwest American landscape, is now available to Xbox owners.
The new expansion, Whispers in the Woods, has launched simultaneously for Xbox, PlayStation 5, and PC. This add-on includes a new story arc, anomalies to explore, artifacts to collect, and an expanded area of the map. Players can purchase the expansion separately for £12.49 / €14.99 / $14.99.
Pacific Drive is among the critically acclaimed indie games. Described by gaming websites as “one of the most original games of 2024,” it stands out for its dark humor, supernatural atmosphere, and “continuing against all odds” theme. Editor Chris Tapsell described the game as “an experience that captures the zeitgeist with its strange physics, dark humor, and tenacious sense of survival.”
The inclusion of Pacific Drive in Game Pass within the Xbox ecosystem aims to increase the service’s appeal despite recent price increases. Microsoft recently announced that it would continue to expand its Game Pass library by announcing new additions such as The Outer Worlds 2, Football Manager 26, and PowerWash Simulator 2.
